Why did my contact see a missed call, but they did not receive a voicemail message?

We understand how important it is for your campaign success that your messages are delivered. You may note in your campaign that a message says it was successfully delivered, but your contact later tells you they didn't receive a voicemail.

Phone carriers use spam filtering technology that analyzes the content of your message, among other things, and may block your voicemail from reaching your contact. In these cases, your contact will receive a missed call notification, but no voicemail even though our system successfully delivered the message.

It can also be common for your contacts to see the missed call and call you back right away without ever listening to the voicemail. In campaigns where you won't be answering or returning calls, we recommend setting up an IVR. Configuring an IVR to play a message is a great second play chance because when the contact returns the missed call they will hear the message.
